Our Committees
Access to Care
A lack of access to care is one of the most widespread and challenging barriers people face to health. A number of community organizations have been working for many years in Spartanburg to increase access to care. Live Healthy Spartanburg is bringing these organizations and the rest of the community together to support and expand on these efforts.

Community Engagement & Capacity Building
Creating a healthier Spartanburg starts with working alongside the community and centering their voices, leadership, and lived experiences in every step of the process. Live Healthy Spartanburg is committed to elevating the voices of those most affected by social barriers to health and racial disparities. Through our Community Engagement and Capacity Building Committee, we work to strengthen the efforts of community-based organizations and grassroots partners by supporting their ability to expand their reach, deepen their impact, and lead solutions that reflect the lived experiences of those they serve.
H.E.A.L. (Healthy Eating Active Living)
The places where people live, work, and play shape their ability to lead healthy lives. The Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) Committee works to improve community health by addressing chronic conditions through a variety of strategies. This includes supporting healthy behaviors, increasing access to preventative screenings, and advocating for policy, systems, and environmental changes that make healthy choices easier. In partnership with PAL: Play. Advocate. Live Well., we also support the implementation of evidence-based practices in schools and other settings to promote long-term wellness and reduce health disparities across Spartanburg County.
